If we apply the definition of virtue to “patience” it is then a good and desirable quality that results in good and moral behavior. James uses three people to describe and exemplify patience. He uses the farmer, the prophets, and Job. When we begin to see patience as a Godly characteristic, we see why it is an attribute of the fruit of the Spirit.

Waiting and trusting is one of the most difficult things to do when we are stuck in fix it mode, and “I do it myself” mentality. This is one of the reasons it is so hard for people to come into a quiet sanctuary and “Just Pray.”
