What’s on Your Mind

The question we can and probably should be asking ourselves is, “What’s on your mind?” As usual there is no shortage of things in this world to occupy our minds and distract us. It’s ok to think and ponder the year in review and it is also important that we don’t let this occupy our attention and energy. The world screams on so many levels for our attention. The question remains, what occupies your thoughts? This is a challenging question because there is so much going on that we aren’t always sure what is occupying our minds. This is a question we should not ignore.

We sit in church distracted with life and exhausted. Many people sit with some sort of unrest whether it is what they have to get done or simply carrying on with their responsibilities. The thing we’re looking for is peace, love, rest, hope, worship, and a sense of spiritual well being. The problem we face is that what we want most of all is buried in the chaos and fast pace of what has been made of the wonderful Nativity of Christ.

Our worship and praise of God is not conditional based on how we feel, our current or past situations, or what is going on the world. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and He is worthy of our praise. And this is the season to focus on the coming of our Lord.
